Why do Cockapoo coats need frequent brushing?

Brushing the surface is not enough. The aim is to work gently in small sections and then use a metal comb to check that you can reach through the coat without snagging.

How often should a Cockapoo visit the groomer?
Six to eight weeks is a useful planning point, not a rule. A short practical trim may last longer; a fluffy teddy-bear style usually needs more home maintenance and may need reshaping sooner.
Book before the coat becomes matted. A groomer may need to clip a tightly matted coat short because brushing it out can be painful and damage the skin.
How often should you bathe a Cockapoo?
Bathe when the dog is genuinely dirty, using lukewarm water and dog-safe shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and dry the coat all the way through. Dampness left beneath a dense coat can contribute to discomfort and tangling.
